"Fall" In Love With These Trends!

Although I still haven't come to terms with it, it's true ... Summer is ending. It's getting colder outside and we're all staying indoors a lot more :(  On the bright side, Starbucks has brought back the Pumpkin Spice Latte and there are some wonderful new trends to work with this season!  We took a little inspiration from New York's fashion week to bring some Fall 2011 home trends you should look out for. Tell us what you think!

According to elle.com there are a ton of fashion trends this season. We took a look at some of the ones they identified and picked a few that could work well in home design.

Spot On!
There were spots everywhere at this year's fashion show. We also found them at Ikea! Check out the Klippan loveseat sure to bring out personality in any space. Just don't overdo it with adding more spotted items to the room!

Mod, Mod World
The 60's were back at the fashion show! Some were misses, but some were hits. If done right, incorporating this style can bring a super-chic personality to your space. We love the Deco Bacall Velvet Side Chair from Overstock. Only $275!!

Hail, Victoria!
One of my personal favorites for the fall! This time, fashion week designers decided to go back .... we mean, WAY back! We love touching our fashion with the old victorian style and there are some great ways to create the modern/vintage look in your home. Check out the mirrored furniture from ZGallerie to get this look. What's not to love!

Designer: Marc Jacobs

Fluff Pieces
We've saved the best (most comfortable!) for last! Fluff is in! In fashion it hides the result of those extra cookies you ate. In your home, it's uber-comfy!! Get yourself a shaggy-chic fluffy rug and your feet will be extra happy! We love the Indochine Peacock rug at ZGallerie but you can find several on Overstock.com and CB2.

Designer: Derek Lam

Tell us what you think of these trends. Which do you think will stick around for a while? When it comes to trends, home design and fashion tend to play off of each other. As a piece of advice, never over-do it when it comes to trends. Having just one trendy piece to offset some clean, neutral pieces is a great way to freshen up your place without breaking the bank.
