If you're visiting your vacation home this summer, you might want to do some quick summer shopping on your way down. Get inspired by some of the hottest summer trends to give your beach house the perfect summer re-design!
Sea Glass Vases
Groupings of frosted glassware, votives and vases are all you need to create the simple, summery vignettes your space is waiting for. You'll achieve this zen, serene look by choosing bottles that vary in size, color and texture. I don't usually prop mine with anything, but you can always fill your vases with fresh flowers, succulents or candles. Check out West Elm's Waterscape Vases and Hobnail Bottles to get started!
Sisal and natural fiber rugs are fabulous all year round, as they're neutral and bring a natural element to any space. They're especially perfect for summer because of their ability to blend seamlessly with beach-themed decor. Some tend to be softer than others, so make sure you feel them before pulling the trigger. Choose from an endless selection of styles including cotton bordered, bohemian-styled fringe and decorative cut-out rugs. One of my personal favorites is Serena & Lily's Round Jute Rug.
Another year-round favorite are wood or ceramic based garden stools. For indoor or outdoor use, these pieces are a classic addition to any beach house and work wonderfully as side tables. I prefer lattice, criss-cross patterned stools that read more Moroccan, but you can also find simple, glossy ones that have a more neutral style. They also come in all different colors, with navy and white undoubtedly the most popular. Overstock has a huge selection to choose from, such as Safavieh's Paradise Courtyard Ceramic Garden Stool.
Buy these babies anywhere and buy as many as you can! Just like jute rugs, seagrass baskets will add the natural, airy element your home is calling for. Arrange one under a coffee table or side table, stack them in bookcases or set a nesting basket next to the couch. Nate Berkus' Water Hyacinth Basket from Target would be the perfect touch to your entryway!!
